“A Major Award”
Did you ever watch the holiday classic “A Christmas Story” where little Ralphie is denied his ultimate obsession, a Red Rider BB Gun? Remember when his dad received that gaudy lamp shaped like a woman’s leg covered in fish net stockings? When the package arrived it was labeled “Fragile” which the dad misinterpreted as being from “Fra-G-ile”. He told both family and friends that it was a “major award”. He was all kinds of proud and felt great about it. I feel like that right now. Like I just won a major award. I spent the last 7 hours at the Fishers Island, NY Community Center working with various groups totaling @ 30 people, teaching them how to use their new Life Fitness exercise equipment. Fisher’s Island is home to @ 200 people year round and the population swells to 2-3 thousand every summer. The people I worked with were part of the core group of the community and they were awesome. They ranged in age from 15 to 65 and all had uniques stories. They were very grateful, appreciative and welcoming. They made me feel like I did a great job. I sacrificed time with my wife and children and put more work on my wife to be down here, but it really felt worth it. I hope you feel like you won a major award today too:)
