Halloween Fun

We’ve got a family tradition where we dress up as a theme every year. This year my sister in law and her twins came up from NY to round out our group. If you couldn’t tell, we went for the Wizard of Oz. We had the Wicked Withe of the East, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Glynda the good witch, the Scarecrow, the Tin-Man, the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy and me…the scary tree from the haunted forest. I have to admit, I was not all that excited about mt contribution this year, but once we got together it fit pretty good. We also went to our Uncle Charlie’s who dressed up as Oz, set up a fog machine and wired the Oz soundtrack through his outdoor speakers and a floating/talking head. It was a blast. I spent most of the night fending off ax attacks from my 4 year old who was the Tin-Man, but it was worth it.

I was happy to see several people actually giving out individually bagged pretzels and “healthier” versions of treats. Don’t get me wrong, the kids loaded up on Snickers, Kit-Kats and the like, but there was a conscious effort by some of my neighbors. they get props!

I am retiring for the night, I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend.
