Casino Keynote, Captain Jack Sparrow and a Sledgehammer.

Wow!

What a week it’s been. I put in some long hours and late nights working on the keynote presentation that I delivered at the New England Health and Racquet Sportsclub Association’s (NEHRSA) spring conference on 5/19/11. The conference was titled Hitting the Jackpot and my presentation was tittles “Stop Chasing Success and Celebrate Your Success.” I had an amazing time there.

A Shot of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods when I arrived

The MGM Grand at Foxwoods is a beautiful hotel and the conference was great as NEHRSA conferences usually are. Never mind that this was my first keynote presentation! I was honored to be selected for this opportunity. The crowd seemed to enjoy the talk and I know that it was an unforgettable experience for me.

I got to grab some snacks at Whole Foods (which I love!) a couple of times this week and got a kick out of this new water I saw, the call it how I say it lol!

Finally someone spells it right!

I also lead a 2 day workshop for NASM in Boston and was blessed with an awesome group of trainers.
Good to be done setting up for the night!
We had over 30 people in the group and they did a great job!

On Friday night I had some time to myself and took in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on an IMAX screen in 3D.

I have enjoyed the Pirates’ franchise so far and liked this installment too. It was so long that my nose was sore by the end from wearing the 3D glasses. The movie was two hours and twenty one minutes plus advertisements previews. If you go, stay all the way past the credits for a hint into Pirates 5! I won’t give it away, and it’s just a quick clip, but if you are a fan, you will want to see it.

Sunday was busy too. We are doing some landscaping/yard work and it required taking down an old fence that had some metal poles holding it up that were cemented into the ground. I have to dig them up, pry bar them out and sledge hammer them apart.

Forget hitting a tire, try busting concrete!

I got a heck of a workout! I enjoy physical work, but am glad that I do not have to do hard physical labor for my full time job. I am going to be sore tomorrow:) I’m also glad that I bought a tend pound sledge instead of a 20 pounder…that would have messed me up! I of course did some self myofascial release, thoracic spine mobilization and core activation before hand:)

I hope you all had an awesome week and have an even better one lined up!

Thanks for reading!
